Teens Arrested In Church Burglaries

Several teenagers were charged Saturday with stealing stereo equipment and other items from a South Hill church.

Bethel Church of the Nazarene, S1111 Thor, was one of two churches burglarized Friday and Saturday, Spokane Police said. Intruders on Friday morning took an undisclosed amount of money from Heritage Congregational Church, E1801 29th.

The break-in at Bethel was late Friday or early Saturday. Mark J. Schatz, 18, E3717 Sixth, was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary.

Police did not report how many minors were arrested.

They were booked into the juvenile detention center, also for second-degree burglary.
