Borland Slashes Jobs

Associated Press

Borland International Inc. says it will lay off 38 percent of its work force, another step to combat the stubborn financial troubles that threaten its survival.

The software company will cut 650 jobs, leaving a work force of 1,050. Borland had warned of layoffs last month, but the cut is somewhat deeper than expected.
