Driver Hits Art School

From Staff Reports

A 45-year-old man suffered minor injuries after his car skimmed a Spokane art school and broke off a gas meter, police said.

John F. Killeen, address unavailable, was taken to Deaconess Medical Center after the accident at 8:18 p.m., Sgt. Dave McGovern said. Killeen will be cited with driving under the influence, he said.

Killeen was driving a four-door Buick on North Howard when he veered off the road and his car broke the gas meter off the Spokane Art School, N920 Howard.

That block was closed to traffic as Washington Water Power shut off natural gas and Spokane Fire Department crews measured gas levels at the school and Spokane Civic Theatre, but found no danger.
