Three-Year Old Killed When Run Over By Truck

From Staff Reports

A 3-year-old boy died Wednesday after his father’s friend accidentally ran over him with a truck, Kootenai County Sheriff’s officials said.

Kenneth R. Kadoun of Coeur d’Alene was playing on a bank near Ohio Match Road and Hayden Creek at about 3:50 p.m., said Lt. Ben Wolfinger.

His father and his father’s friend, Larry Kinsey, were collecting firewood to cut from a ditch-like area below the boy.

Kinsey was behind the wheel of a pickup pulling a log that had been chained to the rig. Wolfinger said the boy fell from the bank and rolled down in front of the truck.

Kinsey was looking backward and the boy’s father was manning the chains.

“They didn’t see him in front of the truck and pulled forward and ran over the child,” Wolfinger said.

Kinsey and the boy’s father rushed the child to Kootenai Medical Center, where he died from head injuries.
