Bruins Romp Past Wildcats, Move Into First

Ed O’Bannon scored 21 points as No. 4 UCLA overcame No. 11 Arizona’s home-court edge with a 71-61 victory Thursday night, giving the Wildcats their first double-digit loss at home since the 1983-84 season.

UCLA (10-1) took over first place in the conference with a 4-1 record, thanks to Washington State’s victory over No. 17 Oregon.

UCLA used a tough man-to-man defense to keep Arizona (2-2, 12-4) off balance throughout. The Wildcats shot only 35 percent.The Bruins shot only 38.7 percent, but outrebounded Arizona 44-41.
