Sandpoint Celebrates Winter In A Big Way

The annual winter carnival in Sandpoint, cleverly titled “A Winter Fanta-Ski,” swings into full action today.

The event, which continues through Jan. 29, opened a week ago with a concert at the Edgewater Resort.

Whether you’re an outdoors-type person who’s an enthusiast for brisk elements or someone who would rather celebrate winter in the warmer indoors, “Winter Fanta-Ski” is an allinclusive event with fun for the whole family.

The numerous winter carnival activities take place at Schweitzer Mountain Resort and in Sandpoint.

The wide-ranging activities include: snow-broom hockey at City Beach, The Lazer Vaudeville Show at the Panida Theater, Mr. and Mrs. Winter Carnival contests, the Original Taste of Sandpoint at the Cedar Street Bridge, an oldfashioned skating party, the Telemark Classic at Schweitzer, turkey bowling, a pool tournament, a “funky ski wear” contest and the annual Parade of Lights through downtown Sandpoint.
