Former Denver Broncos quarterback Norris Weese died Friday after a lengthy fight against bone cancer. He was 43.
Weese, who played for Denver from 1976 to 1979, was a backup quarterback for Craig Morton for three of his four seasons with the Broncos. He was a starter in six games in 1979 before injuring his knee.
Weese retired the following season but stayed close to the Broncos, making his final visit to Mile High Stadium to watch the 1994 season opener.
Weese was a certified public accountant in Denver.
