Rock Star Ordered To Court
Courtney Love, the widow of grunge-rock star Kurt Cobain, has been charged with offensive behavior on an airplane, police said Sunday.
Police say Love, the 30-year-old lead singer of the band Hole, abused and intimidated cabin crew and passengers during a 90-minute Qantas flight from Brisbane to Melbourne Saturday. She was flying to a concert.
“The pilot radioed ahead and police boarded the plane when it landed in Melbourne. The woman was interviewed and charged with offensive behavior on an aircraft,” a police spokesman said.
Love, who is on an Australia-wide tour, was granted bail so she could perform at a Melbourne concert Saturday night.
She was ordered to appear at the Broadmeadows Magistrates Court in Melbourne today.
