Two Hospitalized After Collision In Valley

From Staff And Wire Reports

A two-car accident landed two Spokane residents in hospitals Saturday morning.

Paula M. Seibolts, 42, of Spokane, was headed east on Trent in the Spokane Valley about 9:15 a.m., the Washington State Patrol reported. When she attempted to make a left turn near Evergreen, her 1990 Mitsubishi pickup was hit by a westbound 1993 Ford pickup driven by Michael A. Girven, 36, of Otis Orchards, the WSP said.

Seibolts, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered a broken left ankle, broken ribs and cuts on her left knee, the WSP said. She was taken to Valley Hospital and Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition.

Girven, who wore a seat belt, suffered bumps and bruises and was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Both pickups sustained extensive damage and had to be towed, the WSP said.
