Two young boys who got lost in the woods while collecting moss were found cold, wet, tired and bug-bit Monday, but otherwise OK after spending two nights in the Ocala National Forest.
Joel Oakes, 6, and his 3-year-old brother, Eric, were huddled together under a thick grove of palmettos when Charles Steinkcamp of the U.S. Forest Service found them.
The boys were about two miles from the Deerhaven church camp they had wandered away from Saturday while their mother and father cleaned cabins. The weather was mild but rainy.
About 450 people searched for the boys Sunday, and another 250 were out Monday, aided by helicopters and tracking dogs.
