Empty Boat Adrift Sparks Search

Stevens County sheriff’s deputies and divers looked for a person late Friday whose boat was found adrift on Loon Lake.

A county sheriff’s dispatcher would not disclose whether the missing person was a man or a woman. Authorities know the victim’s name, but did not disclose it.

The disappearance was reported about 5 p.m. after the boat was spotted on the lake without anyone on board.
