Pacific Fruit Sells Property At Auction

Pacific Fruit Growers and Packers Inc. has sold 12 of its orchards, storage and packing facility and personal property for just under $11 million at an auction.

The total package was valued at more than $16 million by the Yakima County Assessor’s Office.

About 1,560 acres of orchard from Omak to Zillah were sold at the auction Wednesday.

Pacific Fruit stockholders decided to auction off the company after trying to sell it for 18 months.

Haas Fruit Co. Inc. bought the storage and packing facility for $4.3 million. It was valued at $6.7 million.
