Liberty Students Going To National Conference

Liberty High School in Spangle will send three students to the Future Business Leaders of America national conference in Orlando, Fla.:

Sara Engle will compete in business procedures, in which she placed first in the state competition.

Brian Kittredge will compete in business law, having placed first in the state competition.

Jason Kittredge will compete in business math. He placed second in the state competition.

Lynnsey Ellis, 7, is a state finalist in the Miss Washington American Princess Pageant Sept. 4 in Seattle. She is the daughter of Sam and Rebecca Fabrizio.

Dawn Hill, 15, is a state finalist in the Miss American Coed Pageant July 21-22 in Everett. She is the daughter of Ron and Carol Hill, Spokane, and will be a sophomore at West Valley High School in the fall.

Laura Estes, Odessa, Wash., has won a top award in a national quilting competition sponsored by Keepsake Quilting of Centre Harbor, N.H. She tied for third place in the Create a Garden Keepsake Challenge.

Estes used a variety of threedimensional applique and other techniques to depict an arrangement of flowers.

Rick Courter was named Account Executive of the Year by Clarke American Check Printers. He also received Clarke American’s Superior Contributor Award and was recognized by the Sales and Marketing Executives of Seattle as a finalist for the 1995 Distinguished Sales Award.

Shannon Baz-Casper recently represented the Washington affiliate of the American Diabetes Association at its National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. She will be a senior at St. George’s School in the fall and serves on the Washington ADA affiliate’s statewide youth services committee.

Melissa Evans received the Xerox Award in the Humanities/ social sciences competition sponsored by Xerox Corp.

She is the daughter of Pam Evans, Spokane, and Dennis Evans, Vancouver, Wash. She will be a senior at Shadle Park High School in the fall.

Abraham Kinney, son of John and Erin Kinney, Metaline Falls, Wash., has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship to attend The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City. He will be a student in the college’s Albert Nerken School of Engineering in September.

Kinney is a recent graduate of Selkirk High School, Ione, Wash., where he was class valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society.

Edwina Stowe, a mathematics instructor at North Idaho College, was honored as this year’s recipient of the prestigious North Idaho College Foundation Faculty Achievement Award. She received a $2,500 check for her contribution to education. She has taught at the college since 1983.

Andrea Crumpler, daughter of Brad and Sylvia Crumpler, Mead, was inducted into Ivy Honorary, Seattle Pacific University’s chapter of Mortar Board. She was honored for community service work, including being director of urban involvement with Campus Ministries. She is a 1992 graduate of Mead High School and will be a senior at Seattle Pacific University in the fall.
