Pigs, Property Top Agenda

From Staff And Wire Reports

Potbellied pigs and annexations are on the agenda of the Post Falls City Council Wednesday night.

The council is expected to finalize a new ordinance that makes an exception for potbellied pigs when it comes to the city’s ban on swine.

The change was considered at the request of resident Noella Alegria who has a potbellied pig named Mr. Piglet. Police have not had complaints about the pet pig.

In other business, Quad Park softball field owners are requesting annexation of their 80-acre ballpark, and council members will consider terms of another annexation agreement for 20 acres at the corner of state Highway 41 and Mullan Avenue.

Both annexation requests already have had public hearings.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, following a council workshop on local planning laws.
