King County Metro Director Resigns

King County Metro director Carolyn Purnell, whose job will be abolished in Metro’s merger with county government, is leaving the job early, to begin her own consulting business specializing in mergers and consolidations.

Purnell, 55, said with the completion of the merger Jan. 1 her $106,000-a-year post as manager of the county’s bus and sewer agency will no longer exist.
