Three Injured In Helicopter Crash

Associated Press

A helicopter struck a cable strung 50 feet above the Carbon River and crashed Tuesday, sending the pilot and two passengers to the hospital, a sheriff’s officer said.

The 59-year-old pilot and a 40-year-old female passenger were listed in stable condition Tuesday night. A 13-year-old girl was treated for minor injuries.

The crash occurred north of Orting and west of Washington 162.

“Apparently this pilot caught the blades or part of the aircraft in the cable,” said Curt Benson of the Pierce County sheriff’s office.
