Prices To Increase For Overseas Mail

The cost of sending mail overseas goes up Sunday.

Letters to most countries will cost 60 cents per half ounce and 40 cents for each additional ounce. Postcards will cost 50 cents.

Letters to Canada will cost 46 cents for the first half ounce and 52 cents for an ounce under the new rates. Postcards will be 40 cents.

Writing to Mexico will cost 40 cents for the first half ounce and 46 cents for a full ounce. The postcard rate will be 35 cents.

Aerogrammes, single sheets of lightweight paper that fold to form their own envelope, will go for 50 cents to all countries.

Police: Man killed deputy, stole his car and robbed store

new  NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine – A gunman in Maine killed a sheriff’s deputy, stole his cruiser and robbed a convenience store early Wednesday, triggering an intensive manhunt in a heavily wooded rural town, officials said. Somerset County Cpl. Eugene Cole was killed around 1:45 a.m. on U.S. Route 2 in Norridgewock, about 60 miles (96 kilometers) west of Bangor, state police said. His cruiser was driven to a Cumberland Farms store, which was robbed.
