Teenager Arrested On Charges Of Cashing Stolen Checks
A Spokane teenager was arrested Monday and charged with cashing checks stolen from a center for cancer patients.
The Cancer Patient Care offices, 124 E. Trent, lost cash and several business checks in a burglary last weekend, according to a statement by the Spokane Police Department.
By the time the burglary was reported to Seafirst National Bank, where the center has an account, a $400 check had already been cashed.
On Monday, a Seafirst branch on East Wellesley reported a man was attempting to cash another of the stolen checks.
Police arrived and arrested a 17-year-old boy, who had a check for $420, police said.
He was booked into juvenile detention on two counts of forgery, second-degree burglary and possession of stolen property.
