Copa Soccer Begins

Ronaldo scored on a header in the 72nd minute as World Cup champion Brazil beat Ecuador 1-0 in an opening game of Group B play in the Copa America soccer tournament. In another opener, Peru and Colombia tied 1-1.

The U.S. opens today against Chile in Paysandu. Then comes Bolivia, on Tuesday, and tournament favorite Argentina, on next Friday.
