Police Looking For Sex Offender

Spokane Police are looking for a convicted sex offender who has been seen in the downtown area in the company of teenage girls.

Joseph T. Gintz, 18, is wanted on parole violations, said Dick Cottam, spokesman for the Spokane Police Department.

Gintz was convicted of first-degree molestation of a 5-year-old girl in King County. While in prison he coerced younger prisoners into sexual acts, Cottam said. He was released in October 1993. He was designated the highest level of sex offender, one likely to repeat his crimes.

Police ask anyone with information about Gintz to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
