Relive Disney Flavors With Mickey’s Cookbook

Molly Lopez New York Daily News

Have you ever been to Disney World? If you have, you know about the fantastic restaurants filled with every sort of food you could possible wish for. From the restaurants at Disney resorts like Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach Resort, to the ethnic eateries at Epcot, the food is always marvelous.

Now, you can replicate some of your favorite Disney dishes, thanks to “Mickey’s Gourmet Cookbook” (Hyperion Books).

Just flipping through the pages of this book reminded me of the trip my family took to Disney World two years ago. I had a sudden longing for the gigantic, fluffy Mickey Mouse-head shaped waffles we ate nearly every morning, and the delicious Black Forest cake we ordered one night at the German Biergarten in Epcot Center.

Although this book is not specifically for kids, the recipes are so well-explained that it seems aimed at totally inexperienced cooks. Most instructions are just a few paragraphs long and they are clear and easy to follow.

The 12 chapters include recipes for beverages, soups, salads, seafood, veggies, desserts and sauces. And they come from all over Disney World and Disneyland, from New Orleans Square in Disneyland Park to the Alfredo di Roma Ristorante in the Italy center at Epcot.

Even if you’ve never been to Disney World, you can still get the tastes and smells of it through this delicious and easy-to-use book. Have a nice trip!
