Cuba Vows To Attack Protesters

Compiled From Wire Services

Cuba’s government, denouncing the American “pirates” who tried to stage a protest in Cuban waters, warned Friday that it will attack any boat or aircraft that tries to force its way into its territory.

Cuban exiles in Miami tried to organize a 15-boat flotilla for a memorial service Thursday for 41 people killed last year in a collision with Cuban gunboats.

But Cuban coast guard craft broadsided the flotilla’s lead boat and blocked the path of others 11 miles off the coast. Three people were reported injured.
