The Slice But We Always Thought Vegas Was On Another Planet

Spokane’s Carol Williams overheard this on a flight from Seattle to Las Vegas.

Little girl looking out a window: “Do the people down there talk like we do?” Little boy: “Yes, but all of their faces are different.”

Don’t feel bad if your phone system is confusing:

We knew a woman who once interpreted dialing instructions “Pound six-one-seven” as meaning she should punch the buttons really hard.

Never mind: Trudy McCann saw a man collapse in the middle of Madison near Garland one recent afternoon. So she raced into a store and said someone needed to call 911. But soon the man’s drinking buddies arrived. And they insisted that, except for being drunk, their fallen comrade was fine and had just been done in by venturing out into the bright sunlight.

Nobody asked us, but: Of all of Spokane’s multiple civic personalities, our favorite might be “Delusional introvert.”

The rule of the road: “If you drive in Spokane, you’re going to get flipped off.” - J. B. Sing

Bob Teeters’ idea for a winning customer service policy: The Golden Rule.

Don Clifton wonders: “Which fastfood chain serves food that looks most like the pictures in their advertisements?” (Neither Subway nor Wendy’s would get his vote.)

Little boy complaining to the man with him at the Rosauers in Browne’s Addition: “You say EVERYTHING I like costs too much.”

She wants to know if others do this: “Some of my friends wave and scream ‘HI!’ to those Neon cars,” wrote Erica Lovchik. “My brother does it, too.”

According to the listings: There’s a terrific rerun of “The Simpsons” tonight on KREM-TV at 7 p.m., featuring Kathleen Turner’s voice.

Today’s Slice question: What Spokane area waitress/waiter gets hit on by diners most often?
