Bodies Of Iranian Soldiers Discovered

Compiled From Wire Services

Iran has discovered the bodies of 3,000 Iranian soldiers killed in the 1980-88 war with Iraq, Iranian media reported Saturday.

The reports, quoting the head of the Iranian missing-in-action committee, did not say when or where the bodies were found, or why they were not discovered earlier.

Feisal Bagherzadeh was quoted as saying that all the bodies had been identified and a funeral procession for 2,695 of them would be held Friday in Tehran.

A funeral procession for the other 305 dead will be held Wednesday in the southeastern city of Kerman, state-run radio said.
