Stratford Festival’s Former Director Dies
Victor Polley, former administrator of Canada’s Stratford Festival, has died, his daughter said.
Polley, 79, died of a heart attack Wednesday at his summer home on Lake Huron.
Born in the southwestern Ontario city of Stratford, Polley joined the Shakespearean festival in 1954, one year after it started. He was its administrative director for 11 seasons.
Later he was general manager of Toronto’s St. Lawrence Center for the Arts.
