Five teenagers have been charged with beating an American fisherman to death.
The five, who cannot be identified because of their age, were ordered held in custody after appearing in court Saturday in this Pacific Coast fishing town near the southern tip of Alaska.
They were charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Trygue Robert Magnusson, 34, a fisherman from Point Roberts, Washington.
The youths allegedly attacked Magnusson in order to steal a small amount of cash he was carrying, police said.
Two of the suspects are 16, one is 14, and the others 13.
