Hearing Tuesday To Confirm Judge

From Staff And Wire Reports

Idaho Senators Larry Craig and Dirk Kempthorne will introduce B. Lynn Winmill to the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday as the committee begins its hearings on Winmill’s confirmation to fill the vacant Idaho Federal District Court judge position.

Winmill was nominated by President Bill Clinton in June to replace, the late Judge Harold Ryan. Further committee action was delayed, pending the arrival of the paperwork from the White House and final report of the FBI.

Winmill was evaluated by the Senators’ Justice Department Nominee Review Commission before his nomination. Both Idaho senators support Winmill’s nomination.

Winmill is one of six federal judges scheduled for confirmation hearings Tuesday. , DataTimes
