Singer Says Love Assaulted Her

TUESDAY, JULY 18, 1995

Authorities are investigating a woman’s claim that she was assaulted by singer Courtney Love during Lollapalooza earlier this month at George, Wash.

Kathleen Hannah, a singer in the Olympia, Wash., band Bikini Kill, which didn’t play at Lollapalooza, alleges that Love assaulted her during the music festival at the Gorge on July 4.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Department is investigating Hannah’s report, which she filed with the Ellensburg Police Department after the concert.

The sheriff’s department provided no details on the accusation against Love.

Love performed with her band, Hole, during Lollapalooza ‘95. She is the widow of Kurt Cobain, of the rock band, Nirvana. Cobain killed himself in April 1994.
