Congressmen Reimbursed Twice

Associated Press

Congressmen and their staffs were paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in duplicate reimbursements for travel expenses, the first independent audit of the House disclosed Tuesday.

The audit found “no evidence” that members, staff and credit card companies ever reimbursed Congress for the 2,200 duplicate payments.

The repayments may have totaled $900,000, with half of that figure the duplicate amount.
