Burglars broke into at least six businesses in the Shadle Shopping Center on Sunday night, including a community police substation.
The thieves entered the complex through an air conditioning unit on the roof of the Book Nook. They then smashed through walls in both directions to enter adjacent businesses.
Details on losses were not immediately available.
At the COPS Northwest substation, the burglars broke into three filing cabinets and a desk and vandalized the offices. Some equipment, including two police scanners, also was taken.
The equipment is used by volunteers on regular neighborhood patrols. It was paid for by volunteers who raised money for the substation. , DataTimes
