Workers Evacuated After Chemical Leak

From Staff And Wire Reports

A chemical leak on Monday prompted the evacuation of approximately a dozen workers at a warehouse in the Spokane Valley, authorities said.

Sulfur dioxide fumes were released into the air when a hose on a tanker truck ruptured at the Cominco American warehouse in the 15000 block of East Euclid. The workers were evacuated until the chemical was dispersed in the air.

Some workers reported sore throats and headaches, but no one was hospitalized. , DataTimes
