Donation Means Concert Is Free

By The Spokesman-Review

Thanks to an anonymous donation, The Festival at Sandpoint’s Susannah McCorkle concert will be free.

Organizers received the donation Tuesday and agreed with the contributor to make the July 30 show free to everyone.

“The contributor wants to introduce this community and the entire region to the quality of music that Susannah McCorkle represents,” said festival president Sally Lindemann.

McCorkle has been touted as one of the finest jazz-pop singers in the country. She was recently named Singer of the Year in the Los Angeles Times and received the New York Music Award.

Those who already purchased tickets for the show can receive a refund at the ticket office the night of the concert or donate the price of the ticket to the festival.

Festival Executive Director Connie Berghan said festival contributors and volunteers are especially encouraged to attend.

“This is not only a gift to the community, but a way to say thank you to our many volunteers … who make the festival possible,” she said.
