Police Raid Suspected Meth Lab, Find Nothing

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane police raided a suspected methamphetamine lab in a North Side house Thursday after arresting the home’s owner a day earlier.

The owner, Robert G. Katke, 65, was arrested as he left the house at 34 E. Glass, police said. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance.

Undercover officers bought methamphetamine at the house on July 19, then obtained search warrants.

Police had learned that the house was used to produce methamphetamine on weekends, but that the lab equipment often was removed during the week and stored.

They didn’t find evidence of a lab during the search Thursday.
