Woman Acquitted In Child Sex Ring

Associated Press

A Sunday school teacher accused of sexually abusing two girls at church was acquitted of all charges on Friday, the clerk of the Douglas County Superior Court said.

The jury deliberated for three hours before acquitting Honnah Sims of three counts of child rape and three counts of child molestation, clerk Juanita Koch said.

Two girls, ages 11 and 13, accused Sims and others of sexually abusing them at the East Wenatchee Pentecostal Church.

The pastor of the church, Roby Roberson, and his wife, Connie, also are charged with sexually abusing the girls. They are scheduled for trial in September.

The 13-year-old accused Sims, the Robersons and two other men of raping her in Roberson’s church office. But Roberson testified that his office was too small to hold that many people.

The 13-year-old’s counselor, Lynn Madsen, said the girl had sometimes threatened to accuse him of sexual abuse if she didn’t get her way during therapy sessions.
