Compiled From Wire Services

Five striking newspaper employees, including a Pulitzer Prize winner, were injured early Sunday in a traffic accident as they were returning from picketing.

Eric Freedman, who won a 1994 Pulitzer Prize with The Detroit News, and Detroit Free Press reporter David McHugh were in fair condition Sunday at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Three colleagues were treated and released.

Six unions representing 2,500 workers went on strike July 13 against Detroit Newspapers after the company had canceled their contracts.
