It’s Hurricane Season
The six month Atlantic hurricane season begins today, but the most active time in the season is still a few months away.
Although tropical oceans have warmed above the 80 degree temperature threshold for hurricane development, vigorous winds near 50,000 feet will rip apart most thunderstorms roaming the Atlantic.
The heart of hurricane season arrives in the middle of September.
