Small Fire Closes Trent Elementary

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane Valley firefighters were clearing smoke Wednesday evening from a boiler and electrical room at Trent Elementary School, 3303 N. Pines.

A fire dispatcher said damage from a small fire in the room apparently was limited, although power was knocked out to the school. The cause of the fire was not known.

Investigators were at the scene following the 8 p.m. alarm trying to determine what went wrong. Fans were set up to clear the smoke.

Classes were canceled for today, and officials aren’t sure if classes will be held Friday, said Principal Shelley Harding.
