Judge Denies Bail For Arrasmith

A Nez Perce County magistrate has denied bail for a Sunnyside, Wash., man charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the May 17 shooting deaths of a Clarkston, Wash., couple in Lewiston.

A parade of witnesses testified for Kenneth D. Arrasmith on Wednesday, but Magistrate Gary Elliott said he had to consider the seriousness of the charges.

Elliott said he would reconsider setting bail for Arrasmith after his preliminary hearing, scheduled June 9. He remained in the Nez Perce County Jail on Thursday.
