Osu Selects Spoelstra
Montana State women’s basketball coach Judy Spoelstra, a former assistant at the University of Idaho, was named coach at Oregon State.
Spoelstra, an Oregon State alumnus, has been head coach at MSU the past six years, compiling a 98-68 record and guiding the Bobcats to the Big Sky Conference title in 1993.
Spoelstra succeeds her collegiate coach, Aki Hill, who resigned after Oregon State reported to the Pac-10 Conference it had discovered rules violations in the women’s basketball program.
Spoelstra played basketball at Washington State for two years and then transferred to OSU, where she earned Kodak All-America honors after the 1982-83 season.
