Pair Of Cows Will Contribute To School Benefit

Joe Ehrbar Correspondent

Call it the most unconventional kind of fund-raiser on the planet.

Call it the most stinky spectator event of the ‘90s.

Call it the annual Trinity School Cow Plop, which occurs today from 1-5 p.m. at the school, 1306 W. Montgomery.

Here’s how Cow Plop works:

The school’s playground is divided into hundreds of squares measuring 2 feet by 2 feet. The squares are sold for $3 each.

Then two cows, Bessie and Annabelle, are escorted onto the playground pasture, where they will roam and take two plops each. They will poop on a total of four squares.

The holders of the coated squares win.

Prizes will also go out to the squares closest to the droppings.

A total of 32 squares will win some sort of prize.

A host of other activities, including games, face painting, a barbecue and music will coincide with Cow Plop.

All proceeds will benefit Trinity School.

Admission to the event is free. Some Cow Plop squares remain available for purchase and will go on sale starting at 11 a.m.

Choral concert

The Lutheran Women in Harmony, a choral group comprised of women from Lutheran churches in the Spokane area, will present its annual spring concert Sunday at 7 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 1428 W. Broadway.

The public is invited.

The free concert will include religious, contemporary and Broadway show music.

Refreshments will be served after the program.
