Cyclist Breaks Back, Femur In Accident

A 37-year-old Spokane man was listed in reported satisfactory condition Sunday after breaking his back and femur in a motorcycle accident at 9:13 p.m. Saturday.

Dean J. Weatherby was riding east on Deno Road near Hayford Road, where the road curves to the right. The motorcycle didn’t make the turn and went off the road into a field, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Weatherby landed about 50 feet from the motorcycle, which was totaled. He was wearing his helmet, according to the state patrol.

He was taken to Deaconess Medical Center.
