Tests Seal Boxer’s Fate Rome

WBO junior middleweight champion GianFranco Rosi of Italy faces a two-year suspension and the loss of his crown as another round of tests confirmed that he took amphetamines before his title fight against American Vernon Phillips.

Rosi tested positive for amphetamines, a forbidden stimulant, following the bout in Perugia, Italy, May 17.

An automatic two-year suspension will be decided by the disciplinary commission of the federation. Any decision to strip Rosi of the title is up to the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
