Contractor In Jail Facing Fraud, Theft Charges

From Staff And Wire Reports

Accused contractor Ronald G. Stratton is being held in Kootenai County Jail after waiving extradition in Kansas.

Stratton faces 10 charges of grand theft and fraud for bilking thousands of dollars of local residents’ deposits for construction jobs he never finished.

Stratton also faces seven counts of theft and one count of check fraud in Missoula County, Mont., jail records show.

Montgomery County police in Kansas arrested Stratton two weeks ago on a traffic stop, and jailed him on the $100,000 warrant in Idaho for his arrest.

Stratton will make his first court appearance today at the Kootenai County Courthouse. If convicted of the Idaho charges, Stratton faces a $5,000 fine and/or up to 14 years in prison for each count against him.
