Guys And Girls Both Gossip

Did you hear?

Boys and girls gossip the same amount - but they do it for different reasons and talk about slightly different things, said a new study.

It found that preteens gossip an average of 18 times an hour, devoting as much as 50 percent of their time to it.

So now you know what your little sister or brother is doing on the phone for all those hours.

The study said boys gossip to get acquainted. Girls gossip when they’re already close.

The preteens were three times more likely to gossip about their own sex than the opposite sex, and equally likely to gossip about other people’s relationships as about their own.
