Just Like The Old Days, Former Coug Broussard Rejoins Coach Erickson

Compiled From Wire Services

The Seattle Seahawks signed free-agent running back Steve Broussard on Tuesday.

Broussard played two of his four seasons at Washington State University under Dennis Erickson, now head coach of the Seahawks.

Broussard, 5-foot-7 and 201 pounds, was the Atlanta Falcons’ first-round draft choice in 1990 and spent four years with that team - playing 40 games with 16 starts before signing as a free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 1994.

He played 13 games with the Bengals last year, catching a career-best 34 passes for 218 yards and finishing second on the team with 403 rushing yards.

Broussard lettered four years at Washington State, playing under Erickson in 1987 and 1988. He and Ahmad Rashad are the only players in Pacific-10 Conference history to lead the conference in both rushing and receiving.
