Junior Golf Program Adds Weeklong Sessions

What has been an enormously popular junior golf program appears to be getting even better.

The free golf clinics sponsored by the Athletic Round Table for the past two years have been expanded to include weeklong sessions at various courses. Single, daily clinics will still be offered. Area pros will provide all of the instruction.

Youths age 8 through 15 are invited.

“The weeklong camps are geared more for the intermediate players,” said Mark Gardner, pro at The Creek at Qualchan and clinic organizer.

The schedule for the weeklong clinics (one hour each day) is: June 19-23, Downriver (8, 9 and 10 a.m.); June 26-30, Painted Hills (9, 10 and 11 a.m.); July 17-21, Esmeralda (9, 10 and 11 a.m.); July 24-28, Qualchan (8, 9 and 10 a.m.); Aug. 1-5, Indian Canyon (8, 9 and 10 a.m.).

The clinics are limited to 15 golfers in each session.

The three-hour daily clinics include lunch and a free golf club, with a limit of 50 youths per clinic.

The schedule for these clinics: July 18, MeadowWood, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; July 20, Painted Hills, 9 a.m.2 p.m.; July 26, Liberty Lake 1-4 p.m.; July 27, Indian Canyon, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; Aug. 8, Esmeralda, 9 a.m.-noon.

Those interested should call the courses for further information.
