Man Sentenced For Incident With Girl
Coeur d’Alene A 49-year-old Post Falls mechanic was sentenced to 10 days in jail Wednesday for sexually touching a 16-year-old neighbor girl.
Robert D. Reinhardt pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery. He had been charged with sexual abuse of a minor and felony lewd conduct with a minor.
Kootenai County Deputy Prosecutor Scot Nass described a Jan. 9 incident in which Reinhardt “grabbed, squeezed and fondled” the girl and pinned her to the couch, making sexual remarks. Nass asked for a 90-day sentence.
Deputy Public Defender Susie Graham, however, called the girl’s story inconsistent. Graham said the girl also “had a lot of problems with male figures and wanting attention.”
“The alleged victim is a very sick individual, your honor,” said Graham. She said Reinhardt has no former criminal record.
Judge Barbara Buchanan called it a very difficult case, but said Reinhardt was out of line.
“The defendant was the adult in this case, and certainly shouldn’t be touching or horsing around with a 16-year-old girl,” Buchanan said. She also ordered a sexual evaluation for Reinhardt and two years’ probation.
