Rosalia Graduates Receive Scholarships

Five June graduates of Rosalia (Wash.) High School were recently honored for scholastic achievement:

Bonnie Shindler, daughter of Kevin and Charlotte Shindler, was presented with the Washington Scholar Award for academic excellence at the governor’s luncheon in Olympia. The award consists of tuition and fee waiver. Shindler plans to study business at Washington State University.

Donna Peterson, has been awarded a special $5,000 Trustee Award to Manhattan College, New York City. The award was granted for all four college years for a total of $20,000. She intends to study business.

John Goldsworthy, son of Bob and Eugenia Goldsworthy, has been awarded the National Army ROTC Scholarship to the college or university of his choice. The award is for up to $5,000 for each of the four years. Goldsworthy plans to attend Washington State University and major in criminal justice.

Justin Pittmann, son of Charles and Julie Pittmann, has been awarded a $6,000 scholarship to the University of Idaho. He has received the State Future Farmers of America degree and the Masonic Outstanding Junior Achievement Award. He plans to study agriculture.

Justin Beal, son of Stephen and Lynette Beal, has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott, Ariz. The award is renewable each year for four years. He received first place in business math at the Future Business Leaders of America state conference. He plans to study aerospace engineering at the university.

Jim Munyon, Moses Lake, was installed as vice chairman of Northwest Food Processors Association at the group’s annual meeting in Gleneden Beach, Ore. He is employed with Nestle Brands.

Medicine Shoppe International Inc. has presented its 1994 Community Service Award to local pharmacy owners John Antich, Pines Road store, and Wayne Clemens, Mansfield Avenue store. They earned the awards by sponsoring free health-care screenings and wellness programs, brown bag consultations and other community service activities.

Lucretia-May Hall recently graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University with a degree in economics. She is a 1990 graduate of Mead High School and daughter of Jack Hall, Kettle Falls, Wash., and Loretta Hall, Deer Park.
