Man Injured In Head-On Truck Accident

A Kootenai man was critically injured Wednesday afternoon when his pickup truck was struck head-on by another truck.

Keith A. Ostrom, 19, was airlifted to Kootenai Medical Center by helicopter. He was listed in critical condition Thursday in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

The driver of the oncoming vehicle, Peter R. Enos, 25, of Sandpoint, was treated at the hospital and released. So was a passenger in Ostrom’s truck, Rick A. Lomonoco.

The Idaho State Police said Enos’ pickup truck crossed the center line of U.S. Highway 95 about 20 miles north of Coeur d’Alene at 4:15 p.m. Enos was cited for reckless driving and failure to buy a driver’s license.
