Charlotte Martin Coeur d’Alene

At her request, no service will be held for Charlotte F. Martin, 76, who died Tuesday. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Martin was born in St. Maries. She moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, as a young woman and started her own business training and breeding horses. She retired in 1993 due to illness.

She had lived in Coeur d’Alene for about a year and loved traveling and horses.

Ms. Martin was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Horlick.

Patricia Conrad Twin Lakes, Idaho

Memorial service for Patricia Lee Conrad, 51, will be at 11 a.m. today at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Lake (Idaho) Chapel.

Mrs. Conrad, who was born in Seattle, died Sunday. She was raised in the Thompson Falls, Mont., area and attended Montana State College.

She moved to Spokane in 1965 and worked at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

She married David Conrad in 1981, and they settled at Twin Lakes. She retired in 1991 due to medical reasons.

Mrs. Conrad loved crocheting, traveling and salmon fishing.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Nathan Klockler of Rathdrum; three stepchildren; her mother, Alberta Klockler of Helena; two brothers, John Feak of Bull Lake, Mont., and Paul Feak of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Doris Litch of Bull Lake, Geri Soule and Wilma Lopez, both of Seattle, and Ella Clarke of Pahrump, Nev.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernard Anderson Jr. Spokane

Service for Bernard G. “Bernie” Anderson Jr., 57, will be at 1 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private entombment will be at Holy Cross Mausoleum.

Mr. Anderson died Monday.

He was born in Browning, Mont.

He graduated from Rogers High School. He retired from the Navy in 1983 after 20 years.

Mr. Anderson is survived by one sister, Caroline Davis of Kennewick; and one brother, Larry Anderson of Naples, Idaho.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Thelma Marko Spokane

Memorial service for Thelma Marie Marko, 86, is set for 11 a.m. today at Lincoln Heights Congregational Church.

Mrs. Marko, who was born in Tyler, Wash., died Saturday.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Cleo Wilson of Spokane and Lois Prather; one son, Dale Marko of Nine Mile Falls; two sisters, Ina Galbreath and Ruby Holmes, both of Spokane; one brother, Forrest Culver of Spokane; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one greatgreat-grandson.

Memorial contributions may be Lincoln Heights Congregational Church.

George ‘Duke’ Windsor Spokane

Memorial service for George “Duke” Windsor, 79, will be at 2 p.m. today at Pines Cemetery. HennesseySmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Windsor, who was born in Provost, Alberta, died Tuesday.

He pitched for Willamette (Ore.) University in 1938 and, that summer, for the semipro Silverton (Ore.) Red Sox, and became a National Baseball Congress All-American.

He was a former pitcher for the Spokane Indians baseball team in the 1940s, and had pitched with the former Seattle Rainiers, now the Mariners.

On July 6, 1940, he pitched 18 innings during the first half of a doubleheader which the Indians won. It was the league’s longest game.

He retired from baseball and operated the Capitol Bar in Hillyard. He also operated a gold mine in Salem, Ore.

He is survived by two daughters, Paige Gardner of Newport, Wash., and Terry Hart of Spokane; one son, Greg Windsor of Spokane; two stepsons, Steve DeLong of Spokane and Kim DeLong of Helena; two stepdaughters, Jan DeLong of Spokane and Shawn DeLong of Greenville, S.C.; and eight grandchildren.

Marie Krause Spokane

Vigil service for Marie F. Krause, 93, is set for 7 p.m. today at HennesseySmith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Krause, a longtime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

She was born in Neodosha, Kan.

She had worked for New World Life Insurance Co., in Spokane for 10 years and was secretary for the Inland Register newspaper for 20 years. She retired in 1972.

Mrs. Krause was a member of St. Joseph Parish, the Catholic Forestors, St. Anthony’s Guild at St. Joseph and the St. Joseph Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Krause; one son, John Krause of Centralia, Wash.; two daughters, Corinne Chasse and Catherine Ramsey, both of Spokane; 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

A.T. ‘Jack’ Warner Spokane

Memorial service for A.T. “Jack” Warner, 91, is set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Berean Bible Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of cremation.

Mr. Warner died April 29.

He was born Pittsburgh, Pa.

He had lived in Spokane from 1929 until 1980. He moved to California and returned to Spokane in 1990.

Mr. Warner was a certified public accountant and was a senior partner and founding member of the Anderson, Perretti accounting firm.

He was a member of Toastmasters, the Spokane Gun Club, the Archer Club, the Spokane Businessmen’s Pilots Association and Manito Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Joan Warner of Maui, Hawaii; one son, Robert Warner of Spokane; seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ogden Hall or the Benevolent Fund at Berean Bible Church.

Dorothy Ragain Boise, Idaho

Memorial service for Dorothy Wylie Ragain, 86, was held at Waggoner Funeral Chapel in Boise.

Mrs. Ragain, who was born in Burley, Idaho, died Monday at her daughter’s home.

She married Kermit Ragain in La Grande, Ore., in 1933, and they resided in Spokane until Kermit died in 1952.

She then moved to Boise.

Survivors include one son, Kermit Ragain of Glendive, Mont.; one daughter, Kathleen Petersen of Boise; two brothers, Arthur Wylie of Gig Harbor, Wash., and William Wylie of Meridian, Idaho; two sisters, Blanche Roberts of Great Falls, Mont., and Harriet Fawcett of Macedonia, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Lisa and Colin Lovett of Washington, D.C., Kermit Ragain of Ashland, Ore., Peter Petersen of Portland and James Petersen of Boulder, Colo.

May ‘DeDe’ Carson Vancouver, Wash.

Memorial service for May Eloise “DeDe” Chapman Carson, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Vancouver. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery in Spokane.

Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements, with Riplinger Funeral Home in charge of burial arrangements.

Mrs. Carson, who died Tuesday, was born in Spokane.

A homemaker, she had lived in Vancouver for the past 15 years.

She was a previous 63-year Spokane Valley resident.

Her first husband, Hal Chapman, died in 1964.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Carson; one son, Michael Chapman of Seward, Alaska; two daughters, Glorian Teagarden and Mari Ovens, both of Vancouver; three stepdaughters, Margaret Paterson and Kathy Butler, both of Portland, and Joanne Denny of Olympia; one sister, Eudora Kopet of Lincoln City, Ore.; and nine grandchildren.

Lester Organ Colfax, Wash.

Graveside service for Lester C. “Les” Organ, 76, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Colfax Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Organ, who was born in Portland, died Tuesday.

He graduated from high school in Colfax and served in the Army during World War II.

He worked as a deputy auditor for Whitman County before he became Colfax city clerk.

His wife, Lucretia “Crete,” died May 20.

He is survived by one stepson, James Deife of Spokane.

Paul Hodges Deer Park

Service for Paul Willard Hodges, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Presentation Catholic Church in Deer Park. Burial will be at Holy Redeemer/ Kelly Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home of Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hodges, who died at home Monday, was born in St. Francis, Kan.

He moved from Kent, Wash., to the Williams Valley area near Deer Park in 1907. He moved to Deer Park in 1918.

Mr. Hodges worked as a lumberman for the Deer Park Lumber Co. and Deer Park Pine Industries Inc. He retired in 1970.

His wife, Bernice Hodges, died in 1991.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Hodges of Spokane and Richard Hodges of Deer Park; and three grandchildren.

Margaret Patterson Newport, Wash.

Service for Margaret E. Patterson, 79, will be at 1 p.m Saturday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Laurin (Mont.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Patterson, who was born in Pomeroy, Wash., died last Friday.

She lived in Montana from 1958 until 1993, when she moved to Cusick, Wash.

Her husband, Otto Patterson, died in 1983.

She is survived by three sons, Les Patterson of Cusick, Edwin Patterson of Montana and Stan Patterson of Oldtown, Idaho; one daughter, Alice Patterson of Bristol, Okla.; one sister, Dorothy Hatley of College Place, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
